How to Compress Product Images in Bulk Without Uploading Them

Compressing product images one by one is slow, and uploading them to a cloud compressor is a privacy risk for store owners. Bulk compression in the browser solves both problems: you drop in up to 20 images, choose a quality setting, and download the smaller files, plus a ZIP of the whole batch.

How to Compress Product Images in Bulk Without Uploading Them

Start with the originals, not with a screenshot or a resized copy. A 2 MB product photo can often drop to 200-400 KB at 80% quality with no visible difference on a product page, because screens do not show the detail that a print file needs.

Work in batches of 20. That limit keeps phones stable, and you can run another batch right after for dozens of images. Check the before-and-after size for each file, not just the total, because one oversized image can slow a whole page.

For most stores, WebP output is the best next step after compression. It is smaller than JPG at the same quality and keeps the colours your customers expect. If a marketplace requires JPG, keep the original format instead, the tool lets you choose.
